U.S. Grand Prix Park City 2013

Funny story so even though I said I was going to take a step back from competing this year and just film. I got a last minute invite to compete in the U.S. Grad Prix at Park City Mountain Resort. Ben Verge my old ski coach and very close friend was here coaching for the US Freesking Team and asked me if I would like to do it? I was thinking it over and realized that I had only had skied pipe for three days this whole season. So I said what the heck sure ill do it and ended up skiing super well for how much I had trained. It also was amazing seeing all my old friends that I had not seen for a long time. I fell my first run but end up being able to put together my second run and rounded out top 20 so I was super pumped! Here are a couple photos of the day 1/31/13.

New season New goals

Well, this season for me started off with a totally new mind set. I worked my butt of this summer Mtn biking, hiking, working out and as well as my favorite thing to do in the summer, which is skateboarding. So, going into this season I felt strong and confident. Last season I spent a lot of time competing in both halfpipe and slopestyle on the whole tour, which was the Dew Tour, The North Face Open series, WSI and so on. Within competing and traveling from spot to spot I lost what I truly loved about skiing, which was the actual just skiing part. Competing is a mind game and I defiantly got too inside my head when I competed last season, which in favor made me not ski to my full potential. So this 2013-2014 season I decided to take a step back from competing and do what I truly wanted to do, which was just skiing and filming. The thing with me though is I didn't want to just film one aspect of skiing I want to film everything whether that be urban, big mtn lines, park, backcountry and jumps I wanted to do it all. I see so many kids in our sport of freestyle skiing that could have the potential to be a really good all around skier but they choose to just ski one discipline. Which is totally fine but in my mind I just find it way more appealing to see someone ski it all people like Dunken Adams, Parker White, Chris Logan those are the kind of skiers who are raising the bar of skiing in my mind.  So just have fun with skiing and if you are doing progressive and cool stuff people are going to notice. So just go out there and SENDERRRRR.....
