Dew Tour Killington, VT

So off to the next adventure. Tai Barrymore, Kyle Smaine, Robby Franco, me and my coach Ben Verge set of to the second stop of the Dew Tour in Killington, VT. This place is by far the coolest east coast ski town I have been to because it actually had a town! So practice started up the day of Feb. 19th so everyone had a couple days of practice before halfpipe qualification started. Practice went well for everyone the pipe was running great but it was by far the iciest halfpipe I have ever skied in. Day of competition right before qualification I ripped my heal piece out of my left ski and just my luck I did not have a back up pair. I thought about using Kyle Smaine skis because he skis on Moment skis as well but his boot size was way bigger then mine. So I end up skiing on my buddy Tai Barrymore's skis, which where 180cm which are 2cm bigger then my 178cm skis. You wouldn't think that those 2cm would make a difference but it truly does. First run in qualification went pretty well but I didn't land my run as clean as I wanted too but still pulled off a run. Second run I told myself to just go as big as you possible can and see what happens ended up decking out on my second hit and falling really hard on my side. I was pretty bummed to see that I didn't make it into semi-finals but o well there is always another competition. On the brighter side I got to see my best friend Tai Barrymore get second in halfpipe finals. I think I was more happy then he was! Over all it was a great experience and a great journey spent with amazing friends. Here are some photos of the trip.
